Kevin M. Raidy - Pastor
KevinRaidy@yahoo.com

Pastor Kevin was appointed to BUMC in June after completing his Master of Divinity degree at Christian Theological Seminary in spring of 2007.  While attending seminary he served Whitestown UMC and  completed a Residency Program as a Chaplain at Methodist Hospital, a level 1 trauma center, Indiana University cancer and research hospital, and Riley Children’s Hospital.  As a Chaplain he ministered to many people not expecting to be sick, or injured.  Pastor Kevin often says, “As a chaplain, I had the awesome opportunity to minister with people who normally would not be open to pastoral care. God does work in wondrous ways.”

He entered seminary in 2001 on a part-time basis, while working in the corporate world using his undergraduate degrees in International Business and French which were earned at Ball State University in Muncie Indiana.  While attending BSU, he married his college sweetheart Tiffany.  They have been married 15 years and have a 4 year old son, Spencer.   Their family mission statement is “To serve God and others while fully living life of adventure, fun and intimacy.”  Along with their family mission statement, Pastor Kevin uses 1 Corinthians 13:13 as a guide to serving others and God.  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Pastor Kevin’s passions are seeing people’s lives transformed as a result of a personal relationship with God and with others.  It is within a faith community where people are able to fully express and experience their own divinity.

During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, camping and travelling.  When asked of his dream vacation he said, I enjoy travel and experiencing new adventures. I would enjoy renting a villa in Southern France for a few weeks so my family could live the "French" way of life as I did when I studied there in college. I also would enjoy a week in Tahiti, or spend a week canoeing the Boundary Waters of Canada.”

Often times, Pastor Kevin is found with a new book as he enjoys reading.  You can see some of his book choices below:

  • Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul by John Eldredge
  • Let Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation by Parker Palmer
  • Too Busy NOT to Pray by Bill Hybels
  • If You Want to Walk On Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat by John Ortberg
  • The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate by Gary Chapman
  • The Mastery of Love by Don Miguez Ruiz
  • The Four Agreements by Don Miguez Ruiz
  • Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spritual Growth by Richard J. Foster
  • The Big Book, the Basic Text for Alcoholics Anonymous
  • The Self-Help Paradox by David Alan Brown

If you would like to talk with him give him a call or email him and he would be happy to meet you.  Pastor Kevin won’t turn down an opportunity to have a cup of coffee!
